 Collection
Identifier: SCA-021

Scope and Contents

This collection is broken into seven series; Exhibit Labels, Accessions/Aquisitions, the Alvin Skipsna Files, Records, the David Eyman Files, Assorted Files and Miscellaneous Volumes. The third and fourth series contain files that are restricted; these are noted in the fiding aid and on the files themselves.

The first series contains exhibition labels from various exhibits from the 1990s to the present. The second series contains the accession/acquisiion books from the Scribner Library from the 1920s to the 1990s.

The third and fifth series consists of materials relating to two of the College Librarians, Alvin Skipsna and David Eyman. The Skipsna Files contain records such as meeting minutes and files on former staff members. Part of them is made up of records of individual donors which are restricted due to the nature of their contents. A large amount of the Eyman Files have to do with the rennovation of the library in the late 1980s and the early 1990s, which is when the majority of the records are dated to.

The fourth series contains records from the Scribner Library including annual reports and meeting minutes. A large part of the series is taken up by files related to gifts and donations to the library over the years. Some of these records are restricted due to the nature of their contents.

The sixth series contains a number of different types of records including administrative files, publications, and book plates. Due to the diverse nature of the records the series is broken up into five different sub-series; Administrative Files, Book Plates, Holocaust Responses, Miscellaneous, and Publications.

The seventh and final series contains various records from the Scribner Library contained mostly in bound volume format, such as reunion yearbooks, sign-in books, and student suggestion books that contain questions from students and responses from the College Librarian at the time, David Eyman.
